Small Community Projects Fund - Applications Now Open

On Display Indefinitely

The Gilgandra Waste Facility sells scrap metal collected from the community, with proceeds supporting the Small Community Projects Fund. Local community groups can apply for this fund up to $1,000 for community facility projects, with matching funding or in-kind support of an equivalent value required.

The Small Community Projects Fund is now open for applications from local community groups seeking funding for community projects.

The submission process involves writing a letter to Council with the following information:

  1. Outlining your community groups proposed project,
  2. The benefits to the community, and
  3. The amount you are applying for.

The funds can be used for a variety of benefits including repairs and maintenance for buildings, community events, purchase of items and equipment.

Funds are limited, and applications will be ranked. Funds will be allocated according to merit and considered at a Council meeting.

Applications close 5pm Friday, 2 November 2026.

Submissions should be addressed to the Planning & Development Department, Gilgandra Shire Council, PO Box 23, Gilgandra, NSW 2827. Or, emailed to council@gilgandra.nsw.gov.au with the subject header small community projects fund.

Community groups have until Friday 14 May 2027 to complete their project. Payments will be made once the project has been assessed by a Council officer and a tax invoice has been supplied.
