This also includes the proposed 2026/27 waste facility fees and charges currently open for community feedback.

The Gilgandra Cultural Precinct Strategic Plan focuses on 3 key themes:
These key themes in conjunction with community feedback, have guided the landscaping and murals works that have been completed in the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct.
Landscaping works at the Coo-ee Heritage Centre, Sound Shell and Community Gardens have focused on utilising the Castlereagh River flowing through Gilgandra, enhanced though art with recognition of culture and history of our region. Connecting the GCP to Miller Street (Gilgandra’s CBD) and creating an inviting space for locals and tourists alike.
Following Council planning and community survey, with over 100 responses from the public and consultation with Council’s Economic Development Committee, Artist Locky Naef, with assisting local artist Gail Naden brought the community’s ideas to life! The community survey saw recurring themes favouring natural landscape, agriculture, local industry, and Aboriginal heritage.
Gilgandra Rural Museum
Upgrades and works to the Gilgandra Rural Museum include new sky lights, new signage, upgraded footpath and site fencing, and feature mural on the northern wall of the museum representing years of history, culture, and community!
