Building & Development

Gilgandra Shire Council approves new buildings, land use activities, and business in Gilgandra through a process of application and assessment including:

  • Development Applications (DA's)
  • Construction Certificates (CC's)
  • Complying Development Certificates (CDC's)
  • Local Activity Approvals (Section 68)

All of these cover a wide range of construction, building, events, businesses, land use activities, and more.

You have something you want to do? New building plans, an event idea, renovations or additions, new business venture? Not sure what approvals from Council you might need?

Gilgandra Shire Council offers a pre-lodgment service for anyone thinking about new development in Gilgandra. One of the most common delays in the Development Application process is a lack of absence of crucial information. This pre-lodgment service allows advice to be given relating to planning, building, engineering and environment and health matters to ensure people are fully aware of the issues which need to be addressed before proceeding with a Development Application, or even if a Development Application is required.

Planning applications will all need to be submitted online through the State Government e-planning portal from 1 July 2021 due to legislative changes to the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulations 2000.  Find out more about these changes, including user guides to help you through the process at https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/onlineDA

Please Contact Us to make an appointment with one of our Planning & Environment staff to discuss your proposed development.
