Have Your Say! Draft Towards 5000 Documents

Gilgandra Shire Council (Council) has placed three key future planning draft documents on public exhibition and is inviting residents to Have Your Say.

Click on each heading to explore the details of each project.

  • Gilgandra CBD Masterplan – a vision to guide future investment and design improvements, fostering collaboration between local businesses to create a vibrant, creative, accessible CBD that enhances community and key connections and economic activity. View the draft document here(PDF, 81MB).
  • Gilgandra Region Towards 5000 Housing Strategy – ensuring suitable housing options, servicing and planning provisions continue to meet the future needs of our community, growing Towards 5000. View the draft document here(PDF, 2MB).

Throughout the Have Your Say period, there are multiple opportunities for the community to get involved, join the conversation and view the draft documents.

➢ Community Workshop Session – Tuesday, 3 February at GIL Library Hub from 5.30pm

➢ Drop-in Sessions @ GIL Library Hub – Can’t make the community workshop session? Drop in to the GIL Library Hub to chat one-on-one with council staff and project consultants. Upcoming session times are:

  • Tuesday, 3 February - 3pm - 5pm 
  • Wednesday, 4 February - 8:30am - 10:30am

➢ Public Exhibition @ GIL Library Hub – View the draft documents and proposed projects, with graphic displays, hard copies of each document and physical Have Your Say forms available.

Submissions close at 9am on Monday, 9 February 2026.
