Section J Requirement

Section J relates to the Building Code of Australia’s requirements for energy efficiency in non-residential buildings. The aim is to reduce greenhouse emissions through effective building strategies and use of innovative materials.

Section J requirements relate to the following:

  • J1 – Building Fabric

  • J2 – Glazing

  • J3 – Building Sealing

  • J5 – Air-Conditioning and Ventilation Systems

  • J6 – Artificial Lighting and Power

  • J7 – Heated Water Supply
