The following council offices and services will close at the end of business Tuesday, 23 December and re-open on Monday, 5 January 2026:

- Council Administration and Service NSW Office in Miller Street
- Gilgandra Youth Services
- Gil Care Connect
Gilgandra Housing and Homelessness Services: If you require an Extension of Temporary Accommodation, please call Homes NSW Dubbo Local Office on 6885 7111. If you require Emergency Accommodation, please call Link2Home on 1800 152 152.
Gilgandra Fitness Centre: The Fitness Centre will be toggle access only from Thursday, 18 December 2025 – Monday, 5 January 2026. A reminder for members to check your membership is up to date prior to closure.
Gilgandra Waste Facility: Closed on Thursday 25 and 26 December 2025, and 1 January 2026. Open 10:00am-4:00pm between 22-24, and 27-31 December 2025, and 2-4 January 2026. All kerbside waste and recycling services remain unchanged over the Christmas period. Council advises to put bins out the night before your collection day to ensure bins are not missed during this busy time. Collection times may vary slightly.
Meals on Wheels: No meals will be available on Christmas Day. Deliveries will continue as normal on Boxing Day and New Years Day (1 January 2026). For any cancellations during this period - please contact Jack Towney Hostel on 0418 678 947. For emergencies contact 6817 8750 where you’ll be diverted to on call mobile number.
Coo-ee Heritage & Visitors Information Centre: Closed on 25 December 2025, open 9:00am to 4:00pm all other days.
Gilgandra Swimming Pool: Closed on 25 and 26 December 2025 and 1 January 2026.
