How many lanes will the pool have, and how long will it be? 50m if possible?

The concept plan includes a 50m pool; however, no decision has yet been made on the number of lanes. This will ultimately depend on competing priorities and available budget.

This suggestion will be considered. It’s inclusion will depend on a cost-benefit assessment and available budget.

The concept plan does not include dedicated community meeting spaces. However, there are a number of meeting spaces available in the Gilgandra region, such as Community Halls, CHC, Gil Library Hub, and CWA.

Will the pool be heated and accessible for all people, including those with disabilities, and include hot showers?
|
A heated pool has not been included in the concept plans and is likely to be cost-prohibitive. Hot showers will be included in GRC amenities.

Will there be spaces to run workshops at the new Centre?

The concept plan does not include dedicated community meeting spaces, but there are a number of meeting spaces available in the Gilgandra region, such as Community Halls, CHC, Gil Library Hub, and CWA.

The concept plan includes two basketball courts, which can also be used for other indoor sports and recreational activities. No decision has yet been made regarding the size and configuration of the area; this will depend on priorities and available budget.

Yes, the concept plan includes a learn-to-swim area.

An area for bus parking will be included in the design.

The North-South orientation of the tennis courts will be considered during the design phase of the project.

Access points to the GRC, including how they flow and connect internally and with other elements of the HPP, will be considered during the design phase.

Will the Tennis Clubhouse stay, and how many tennis courts will there be? Does tennis need independent access?

No decision has been made regarding the clubhouse, but the suggestion that it may no longer be required has been noted. The initial concept plan includes four tennis courts, which will be reviewed during the design process. The possibility of integrating the tennis courts into the GRC facilities has also been noted.

How will access into the Centre work (toggles, lease arrangements, passes, future costs, etc.)?

A cross-functional internal GSC team has been established to consider future operations of the GRC, including access, stakeholder agreements, and projected operational costs.

Who will manage the facility, and how will operations be handled?

Council will manage the GRC and is considering ongoing operations as an important factor when finalising the design.

How will amenities, school supervision, and passive safety supervision be addressed?

|
Construction is planned to take place over two financial years: 2026/27 and 2027/28.

Shade will be considered during the design phase of the project.

Does the funding cover only the building, or will it also cover the fit-out, such as gym equipment?

The concept plan and budget estimates include the fit-out of the facilities.

Are there any constraints with funding?
|
Council has not received a funding agreement at this time. |

Is there a risk with the funding being pulled out?

We have formal advice from the Federal Government on the success of our application and $14m funding amount awarded. We are now waiting on the funding agreement.

Closure of the tennis courts during the construction phase will be subject to contractor negotiation and agreement. |

If the Wishlist is beyond the budget of the grant, is it better to only complete some elements and seek funding for the other elements at a later date?

Council will be considering construction elements, budget implications, and priorities over coming months. At this point a staged approach has not been considered.

| Will the trees be removed? |
The planning and design process will take account any required tree removal in the “construction footprint” area of Hunter Park. Any tree removal will only be by necessity. |

What is council doing with the old buildings and land including the Youth Club and old basketball courts?
|
Council has not made any decisions at this point, and the future of the existing Youth Club site will be part of Councils deliberations over coming months. |
