Economic Development Committee - Representatives Required

No longer on display. Expired on 13 May 2022, 05:00 PM

Under the provisions of the Local Government Act, Council must advertise and re-appoint all community representatives after each Local Government General Election. Nominations are now being invited from interested members of the community to serve on the Economic Development Committee. This Committee will comprise three councillors, plus:

  • five business house representatives; and
  • three community representatives.

Members are responsible for identifying, exploring and facilitating issues relating to the promotion and economic development of the region – specifically opportunities that lead to new industry development, growth and retention of existing business, attracting new residents and an increase in tourism activity.

If you are interested in joining this committee, please submit your nomination in writing to the General Manager (or email to council@gilgandra.nsw.gov.au) by close of business Friday, 13 May 2022.  All previous committee members are welcome to re-nominate. Should you require further information, please contact Kathryn Larkin or Julie Prout at Gilgandra Shire Council on 6817 8800.
