The Waste 2 Art Year of Toys held the Award Night Function at the Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre (CHC) on Friday, 16 May 2025. The judging panel announced successful winners for Waste 2 Art 2025 (listed below):
- Overall Winner – ‘Collecting Birdies’ by Nicole Harte
- Open 2D – ‘Buttons’ by Judy Shalhoub
- Community Function – ‘Daughter’s Toy Box’ by Brendan Schembri
- Community 3D Winner – ‘Tanker’ by William Herbert
- Community 3D Highly Commended – ‘Tractor’ by David Wilson
- Community 2D – ‘Kooka’ by Brian Roberts
- Primary 3D Winner – ‘Rosalina’ by Adelaide Mudford
- Primary 3D Highly Commended – ‘Crocodillis Maximum’ by Hugh Harvey & Janos Rajan
- Primary Functional Winner – ‘Recycled Ballerina’ by Floss Harvey
Public exhibition of these artworks will continue until Friday, 23 May 2025. People’s Choice Award is open until the end of the exhibition, it’s not too late to vote for your favourite. Council look forward to seeing Gilgandra’s winners at the regional showcase at Western Plans Cultural Centre in Dubbo from Saturday, 20 September 2025.
