2025 National Volunteer Week

On Display Indefinitely

National Volunteer Week celebrates the power of volunteering to bring people together with the theme ‘Connecting Communities’. This week-long event highlights the important role that volunteers have in building inclusive and thriving communities, and this is especially relevant in Gilgandra. Gilgandra Shire Council (GSC) recognises our #LocalLegend volunteers and community groups and the incredible contributions they make to our community every day, both within GSC services and across the wider Gilgandra Region. Whether you have a spare few hours in your week or you’re interested in meeting new people, volunteering in any form or capacity is a great opportunity to give back. Did you know that you can volunteer with the following GSC services?

  • The Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre, greeting visitors to our region
  • Gilgandra Lifestyles, connecting and sharing stories with #LocalLegends
  • Community Care, delivering meals and a friendly smile
  • Breakfast Club, giving youth a bright start to their day.
