40 Years of Cooee Lodge

Join in on the celebration!

Gilgandra Shire Council with Gilgandra Lifestyles is proud to be celebrating 40 years of Cooee Lodge Hostel, providing care, comfort, and connection to the community. To mark this milestone, residents, families, and the community are invited to a special 40th Birthday Morning Tea!

Director Aged Care & Disabilities, Donna Dobson says the anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the past and look forward to the future.

“For 40 years, Cooee Lodge Hostel has been part of the fabric of our community. We are honoured to have supported so many residents and their families, and we look forward to many more years of providing a safe, caring, and welcoming environment. This celebration is for everyone who has contributed to making Cooee Lodge Hostel the special place it is today.”

Over the past four decades, Cooee Lodge has been more than just a place to live, it is a home for the local elderly, a community of friendship, activity, peace and safety.

We welcome the residents, families and community along to celebrate this wonderful milestone, taking a look back in time through its history and the lives of its residents.

The morning tea will feature light refreshments, coffee cart thanks to Jenny Sandford, The Frothy Filly mocktails, entertainment, face painting for the little ones, birthday cake! and the opportunity to share memories with past and present residents, families, and staff.

Event Details Location: Cooee Lodge Hostel, 2 Townsend Drive Date: Saturday, 13 September 2025 Time: 10:30am – 1:30pm
