Temporary Road Closure Notice - Saturday, 28 September 2024

As part of the Goin’ to Gil and Under the Gums Festival, Council wishes to advise the following road closures will take place on Saturday, 28 September 2024.

The Goin’ to Gil Parade will commencing from Hunter Park on Warren Road at 11.00am. The following roads will be closed from 10.00am to 1.00pm:

  • Miller Street/Warren Road: Between the intersections with Bridge Street and Wamboin Street
  • Morris Street: At the Warren Road Intersection
  • Castlereagh Street: North of Jack Renshaw Bridge


    Diversions around the area will be via Bridge, Myrtle and Wamboin Streets during these closures. A general by-pass detour will be in place for the travelling public around the CBD using Federation Street, Hargraves Lane and Castlereagh Street (Newell Highway).

    The ‘Under the Gums’ event will take commence from 2.00pm at the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct (6452 Newell Hwy, Gilgandra). The following roads will be closed from 1.30pm to 10.30pm:

  • Newell Highway (Castlereagh Street): Between Hargraves Lane and south of Jack Renshaw Bridge
  • Local traffic will be able to access Willie, Deri, Mullion, Gumble, Bobarah, and Railway streets via Wamboin Street

Diversions will be in place directing travelling public from the Newell Highway via Warren Road and Hargraves Lane. Traffic attending the Under the Gums event will be marshalled past the closures into the event parking area.
