Notice is hereby given that Gilgandra Shire Council has received a Development Application (DA) for an Expansion to an Extractive Industry (Quarry) that is designated and integrated development, lodged with Gilgandra Shire Council by Wesley Maas (Regional Group Australia Pty Ltd).
The proposed development will be on land known as Lot 1 DP 1265657, 2697 Oxley Highway, Collie NSW 2827.
The Determining Authority for the DA is the Regional Planning Panel. A modification to the existing Environment Protection Licence is also sought from the relevant approval body, being the NSW Environment Protection Authority.
The proposal involves the expansion of an existing approved quarry (DA2017/218). The expansion will be in two (2) stages. Stage 1 will consist of 490,000 tonnes of material per annum for a period of up to five (5) years, subject to the progress of the Inland Rail Project and associated road upgrade projects, and Stage 2 will include the extraction of 120,000 tonnes of material per annum for a period of up to twenty (20) years.
The DA for the proposed development and accompanying Environmental Impact Statement is on exhibition from Monday, 8 February through to Monday, 8 March 2021 inclusive. Documentation is available at Gilgandra Shire Administration, 15 Warren Road, Gilgandra, NSW 2827 or can be downloaded below.
Any interested person may, within the aforementioned period, make written submission to Gilgandra Shire Council with respect to such proposed development. If your comments are an objection, then the grounds of the objection must be specified.
Any submissions that you wish to make on this proposal may be included without alteration (including names and addresses) in reports that are available to the public, in Council business papers (which are published on Council's Website) and also made available to the applicant for comment during consideration of the development application. Anonymous submissions may be given less (or no) weight in consideration of the proposal.
