OUR VISION:

A Vibrant Region to Live > Enjoy > Grow that is inclusive, resilient and progressive

The draft Community Strategic Plan 2032 is currently on public exhibition and Council is seeking community feedback.

Mayor, Cr Doug Batten says,

“The Community Strategic Plan 2032 has been shaped by what our community has told us during recent consultation along with the priorities of your Councillors, and represents our shared vision for the future of the Gilgandra Region over the next 10 years. I thank everyone who participated in the community consultation on the key issues, challenges and priorities. As your community leaders we are committed to a positive future for our Region, and eager to hear your continued feedback”

The Community Strategic Plan is supported by a Delivery Program and Operational Plan that detail actions to be taken over this term of Council towards achieving the communities priorities, including a detailed budget to support these plans.

Council has also reviewed its supporting Long Term Financial Plan through to 2032 and this document is also on public exhibition.

Mayor Batten says,

“With the significant growth opportunity presented by Inland Rail construction, and major infrastructure investments on the way within the Gilgandra Region, we are at a crucial point in effectively planning for growing our community, confirming the Gilgandra Region as a great place to live, enjoy and grow.”

adding,

“It is an exciting time for the Gilgandra Region with many positive projects planned for the coming term including the GIL Library Hub, completion of the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct, implementation of the Housing Strategy development of the Aero Park residential subdivision, Sewerage Treatment Plant upgrade, Industrial subdivision development, and seeking funding assistance for the Hunter Park Precinct Multi-Sports Facility”

“Key highlights within the plan that we aim to respond to include improved roads, enhanced liveability, infrastructure that serves future generations, and an active and thriving community that is a vibrant tourist destination, and a region with resilient and innovative businesses that capitalise on opportunities for economic growth. We look forward to working towards these outcomes over this term of Council.”
