Curban-Biddon Road culvert work progressing

Published on 27 July 2020

Work is set to progress on the upgrades to the Curban-Biddon Road culvert from this week.

The project involves construction of the new culvert which will be wide enough for two vehicles (two lane traffic) along with straightening of the road to improve visibility.

Council’s General Manager David Neeves says,

“Comdain Infrastructure have been awarded the contract to deliver the infrastructure project, who will be mobilising to establish on site this week. Council staff are also commencing construction of the side track.”

Adding,

“Curban-Biddon Road has seen extensive damage with the severe drought conditions followed by recent rain events, restricting access for heavy farm machinery to safely cross the section of Biddon Creek. The culvert will improve accessibility and safety for residents and Council is pleased to have this work advance. There will be some disruption to local road users while the works are completed, however the long term benefits far outweigh the short term inconvenience.”

Curban-Biddon Road will be closed to through traffic while works are undertaken, with the project expected to take two months to complete, weather permitting. Road users are reminded to please obey signage and direction on site and we thank them for their patience while the works are completed.
