If you are travelling along the Newell highway, you are probably looking for a place to stop for a few hours or overnight. With a good range of accommodation options, places to dine and interesting attractions in the district including the spectacular Warrumbungles National Park, Gilgandra is the perfect place to rest before you hit the road again.
The strength of Gilgandra is the friendly locals and by visiting some of the pubs or clubs you will be greeted by friendly people with a story to tell. Take the opportunity to meet a few locals, stop for a coffee or stay for a night..or two.
The Coo-ee Heritage and Information Centre is currently CLOSED as it will soon be undergoing some major upgrades and we look forward to showing them off once complete!
The Visitor Information Centre will be operating out of Miller Street in the CBD while the upgrades take place, with the doors set to open very soon!
Public toilets are located in Hunter Park, and in the CBD on Miller Street. Caravan parking is available at the rear of the Miller Street shops, adjacent to the river and in close proximity to the public toilets.
Please contact Council on 6817 8800 with any enquiries related to the CHC upgrades and Visitor Information Centre opening.
