Community Strategic Plan
Council invites the community to join the conversation on the facilities and services it provides and assist in planning our future over the next ten years of the 2032 Community Strategic Plan. Have Your Say!
Our Community Strategic Plan is Council’s highest level plan and identifies the community's main priorities and vision for the future. The plan represents an opportunity to create and foster community based inter-generational goals and aspirations – to drive a sustainable community that reconciles itself with current and future challenges. Our Vision: A Vibrant region to Live > Enjoy > Grow, that is inclusive, resilient and progressive.
Feedback from the community was invited on the key issues, challenges, opportunities and priorities. This feedback has helped to shape the draft Community Strategic Plan which was reviewed and endorsed at the May Council Meeting.
To help allocate resources and to deliver the projects as part of this plan, Council have also endorsed a Draft Long Term Financial Plan, Draft Community Engagement Strategy and Draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan. These drafts are now available for public exhibition and feedback once again invited from the community.
There are many positive projects planned for the Gilgandra Region including the GIL Library Hub, completion of the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct, implementation of the Housing Strategy development of the Aero Park residential subdivision, Sewerage Treatment Plant upgrade, Industrial subdivision development, and seeking funding assistance for the Hunter Park Precinct Multi-Sports Facility, so be sure to join the conversation and have your say!
We are eager to hear from you in relation to current community aspirations and issues, suggestions for improvements to service delivery and associated community assets, and any general matters you may wish to raise to ensure that our plans accurately reflect our community’s priorities. You can leave your feedback here!
The draft plans and strategies are now on public exhibition and Council is seeking community feedback for a period of 28 days. Feedback is invited until Thursday, 23 June 2022.
