Water

Objective

  • To provide a potable town water supply to Gilgandra that meets Australian Drinking Water standards
  • To provide continuous adequate flow and pressure to all parts of the Gilgandra Village area in line with relevant standards
  • To continually monitor and review performance of infrastructure to ensure that it can meet current and future needs of the community
  • To provide basic reticulated non-potable water supply to Tooraweenah Village area and to other Villages if their populations increase sufficiently to allow cost effective services to be provided.

Sewer

Objective

  • To provide an effective gravity sewer connection to all land parcels in the Gilgandra Village area
  • To provide adequate infrastructure to deliver sewage to the treatment plant in time to prevent offensive odours
  • To transport, treat and dispose of sewage and effluent in an environmentally responsible manner and meet legislative requirements
  • To continually monitor and review performance of infrastructure to ensure that it can meet current and future needs of the community

Stormwater Drainage

Objective

To dispose of stormwater run off within a safe and effective drainage network (which, where possible, includes recycling) to minimise localised flooding and damage to existing infrastructure and property
