General Manager, David Neeves says,

Part of the Stronger Country Communities Fund, the McGrane Oval Masterplan project was a highly supported project identified by the Council and the community.

Mr Neeves says,

“Council worked with the community to identify what elements were priorities for the upgrade to McGrane Oval, ensuring that all stakeholders were part of this of feedback was received prior to planning and submission for this project.”

The Masterplan was formed through Council and the Gilgandra Sports Council Committee, aligned with the Community Strategic Plan. Council underwent engagement with the community earlier in the year regarding suitable projects for the Stronger Country Communities Funding.

The engagement consisted of an online survey with print and radio advertising, social media and direct consultation with community groups.

There were 213 online surveys completed. The survey results showed that 80.51% of respondents were supportive McGrane Oval project. Furthermore, every element within the prescribed masterplan had support from the community.
